PR Plus co-ordinated and publicised the opening of Canterbury’s first gated housing estate, which attracted a crowd of around 400 and raised more than $3,000 for charity.

Hazem El Masri, Sonny Bill Williams and Reni Maitua from the Canterbury Bulldogs, and the Mayor of Canterbury Robert Farolo, were special guests at the opening of ‘John Marie Place. During the event, MC Barry Hyland of PR Plus staged a pass-the-ball competition to raise money for Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets charity.

Every bullseye cost the developer Mr Buddy Wakim $50, and he gladly handed over a cheque for $3,050 to Youth Off The Streets.

Mayor Farolo said the Council was delighted with the way the 16 homes had turned out. “The development not only sets new security standards for the district, but a design benchmark which we are sure will be popular,” Mayor Farolo said.
